In my most recent Facebook Live event ‘Stop UTIs, thrush and BV from ruining your life’, I was joined by Just For Tummies nutritional therapist, Sophia Hill for an informative and detailed discussion about, among other things, how to prevent the misery of a UTI and make sure the painful and bothersome symptoms don’t keep coming back.
We had plenty to say on the subject so if you were unable to attend the event, you can watch the video in full here.
Some of the other areas we covered included the causes of UTIs, thrush and bacterial vaginosis (BV) and the associated risk factors; what women can do to get off the merry-go-round of UTI–antibiotics–UTI–more antibiotics; diet tips to keep your urine naturally acidic to prevent the growth of bacteria; the story behind why I developed my For Women probiotic capsules … and much, much more.
Some of the questions that we answered included:
- I never had a UTI until I started going through the menopause – why is this?
- I didn’t realise that the antibiotics I’ve taken over the years for my UTIs may have caused my IBS. What can I do to help my digestive system and reduce my IBS symptoms?
- I get a UTI every time I have intercourse with my partner, and this is causing problems in our relationship. What can I do to prevent a UTI pre- and post-intercourse?
- What is lichen sclerosus? What causes it and how it can be successfully treated?
