January can feel like a long exhale after December. The celebrations have faded into the background, the days are short and dark, and our bodies often tell us they’re ready for something different – something a little lighter, a little kinder, and deeply nourishing. This is definitely the case for me. I also enjoy a little kick in my winter meals! This month, we’re focusing on wholesome, warming food to get your health back on track (possibly needed even more so after a few too many treats over the festive season!)
That’s why we’re sharing our January recipe: Moroccan Spiced Sweet Potato and Bone Broth Stew – a grounding, slow-simmered dish designed for cold evenings and tired winter bodies.

The combination of slow-cooked vegetables and bone broth creates a deeply satisfying base that’s easy to digest and naturally comforting. Bone broth is traditionally valued for its collagen and amino acids, which support joints, skin, and gut health – especially welcome during the colder months when our bodies crave warmth and repair.
The spices in the stew bring further benefits – cumin and coriander add earthy depth while supporting digestion, helping the body make the most of every bite. Turmeric adds its golden warmth and is widely celebrated for its anti-inflammatory properties – ideal for winter stiffness and post-festive sluggishness. Let’s not forget the cinnamon, which adds subtle sweetness and warmth, as well as helping to balance blood sugar. Harissa ties it all together with a gentle to wake up the senses.
If January is about resetting without restriction, this recipe is a great place to start.
Treat your body kindly this winter.
