I love hummus; I slather it on my salads, vegetables and sourdough toast. My grand-daughter Jessie also loves it; Justin, my grandson, not so much. He just throws it on the floor!
To mark World Menopause Day this October, we’re sharing our hummus recipe packed with nourishing ingredients that can help support your body through hormonal change.
This creamy, flavour-packed Happy Hormone Hummus combines chickpeas, flaxseed, tahini, garlic and sage for a nutritious dip or spread that’s easy to make – and very easy to enjoy. The chickpeas provide fibre and plant-protein and the tahini and olive oil provide healthy fats.
It’s also wonderfully versatile. You can enjoy it as a dip with crunchy vegetable sticks, spread it onto sourdough toast (like I do!) or crackers, add it to a sandwich or wrap, or serve alongside a baked sweet potato. Make a batch and keep it in the fridge for an easy option throughout the week.

Small, nutritious food choices are an important part of supporting your body through hormonal change and they can be delicious, too, as this recipe proves!
Here’s to nourishing your hormones this autumn.
