Live Bacteria – the most versatile supplement on earth!

Probiotics

It’s a bold claim, I know, but I really do believe that my Live Bacteria capsules are one of the most versatile and powerful supplements you can take. They are our most popular supplement and for a very good reason – they work! Just read what Lynne had to say:

I sometimes receive messages asking if I can prove that the bacteria in my Live Bacteria capsules get into the gut alive. I don’t need to prove it – there are countless studies and trials that have done that. The proof is in the pudding – people who take Live Bacteria come back to me with updates, and time and again, they report a reduction in debilitating IBS symptoms, more regular bowel movements, less pain, fewer diverticulitis attacks, fewer UTIs, the list goes on ….

The strains of beneficial bacteria in my Live Bacteria probiotics can help improve the gut ecosystem and in turn, everything from digestive and gut health, skin, hair and nail health to immune function, and even mental health.

It makes sense that probiotics have proved effective in treatment of digestive disorders. More than half the cells that create antibodies for fighting sickness are in the intestines and other organs in the gut. So, if you have healthy gut flora – the balance of helpful bacteria and other organisms in your intestines – you may be less likely to get sick.

Live Bacteria are your immune system’s best friend

With life returning to its former pre-pandemic busy pace, and with cooler weather on its way, now is a good time to be thinking about getting your and your whole family’s health in tip-top condition. Supporting the immune system, through a combination of approaches, is the best way to do this. My Live Bacteria probiotic capsules are a great starting point – and here’s why.

Around 80% of your entire immune system is based in your gut, which means that in order to improve your immune health, it is vital to support and maintain good gut health.

Our gut microbiome is a mixture of good or ‘friendly’ bacteria, and a small percentage of the ‘bad guys’, known as pathogens. One of the most important jobs of good gut bacteria is providing the first line of defence against ingested pathogens, such as undesirable bacteria and viruses. Another vital role of friendly bacteria colonies is the way they ‘talk’ to the immune system helping to enhance our immune responses and keep us healthy.

This means that if our good gut bacteria aren’t fighting fit then we may be more at risk for picking up infections such as colds and flu.

research shows that taking probiotics may shorten the duration of colds

During the winter months, I am often asked if probiotics help fight colds. I hope that you are reading this free from a nasty cold or respiratory virus like Covid-19, however, if you’re already experiencing symptoms, and are firmly in the coughing and sneezing phase, don’t lose hope. It’s never too late to start building up your good bacteria. In fact, research shows that taking probiotics may shorten the duration of colds.

A study carried out in the US observed a group of 200 student participants, with half receiving the probiotic strains L. rhamnosus and B. lactis. The researchers observed that those taking the probiotics experienced colds that lasted an average of 4 days, as opposed to 6 in the placebo group. The probiotic group also experienced a 34% reduction in cold symptom severity.

There have been other studies that have shown similar effects, but this shows a significant result in the student population, who are typically under extreme stress and prone to colds and flus as a result.

Can probiotics help fend off Covid-19?

Studies have shown that probiotic use is associated with a lower rate and duration of mild respiratory tract infections in both children and adults. There is also early evidence to suggest that probiotics might help prevent Covid-19 infection when used alongside other treatments, according to a study published in August 2021 in the Archives of Medical Research.

More research is needed to determine what specific kinds of bacteria may offer benefits, and in what amounts, as well as whether they will work the same for everyone the same way; after all, everyone has different gut bacteria and a different diet, so what works for one person might not work for the next.

An absolute must after a course of antibiotics

A mounting pile of research is showing how crucial the trillions of bacterial cells that live inside us are in regulating our health, and how harmful it can be to suddenly wipe them out with a course of broad-spectrum antibiotics. Thus, it shouldn’t come as a huge surprise that if you do go through a course of antibiotics, I always recommend taking a three-month course of probiotics to replenish the bacteria colonies in your gut.

Are probiotics beneficial for children?

The younger years can be a particularly challenging time for the gut microbiome. Not only are children growing quickly, they are also often dealing with factors such as school, social activities, a high-sugar/low-fibre diet, stress and not enough sleep. These factors can influence your child’s gut microbiome and reduce levels of friendly bacteria.

healthy gut in children

Giving your child probiotics can help give them the extra support they need. My whole family take Live Bacteria, including my two-year-old granddaughter, Jessie. If her stools start to get a bit hard, we pop the powder from a Live Bacteria capsule into her milk. It doesn’t have any taste and she is none the wiser, but her tummy is a lot healthier and with that, her immune system more resilient.

The go-to supplement for the whole family

And it’s not just your children who can benefit from taking Live Bacteria. When Just For Tummies customer, Rachel got in touch to let me know how she was getting on with the supplements in the Perfect Balance Kit, I was particularly pleased to see how she had also got her husband to start taking Live Bacteria for his IBS symptoms.

My soon to be 83-year-old mother has been taking one of our Live Bacteria capsules daily for many years now, and she has had no colds or infections in several years. The same can be said for my husband Kevin, our son, Colin, and our daughter-in-law, Anzhelika. We all take one or two capsules daily because we trust the product and we know it’s doing us the world of good. We do take other supplements, especially throughout the winter but our Live Bacteria capsules are at the top of the list.

Without a doubt, getting into a regular routine and taking a daily probiotic can work wonders for your digestive, gut, immune and mental health, and for less than 60p a day if you buy the Live Bacteria capsules on monthly subscription, it’s a small price to pay for so many health benefits.
