Do your kids have a healthy gut?

Healthy Gut In Children

Looking after your child’s gut health from the get-go can set them up for a lifetime of good health. In fact, it’s widely believed that by the time kids reach school age, their microbiome is already established, and potentially remains with them for their entire life. This is why it’s extremely important to make sure their gut is populated with trillions of friendly bacteria during their early years.

Over the years, I’ve been approached by many parents asking how they can get probiotics into their children. It can be challenging because some will not or cannot swallow a capsule, and if you sprinkle the ‘magic powder’ into cold drinks or mix it into food, they can sometimes taste it.

Do you remember as a child when your mum tried to camouflage some medicine in your food? We always knew, didn’t we? They couldn’t fool us!

So, to make it easier to get the huge health benefits of probiotics into your children this summer, Just For Tummies nutritional therapist, Sophia Hill (check out her website for delicious gut healing recipes) and I have come up with this delicious Probiotic Summer Iced Lollies recipe.

Just a few simple ingredients, including gut-healing coconut milk, dairy-free yoghurt, honey and raspberries, and the addition of the probiotic powder from two of my Just For Tummies Live Bacteria capsules, making it a quick, easy, delicious, healthy way of getting good gut-healing fats and probiotics into your kids’ tummies.

If you have other ingenious ways of getting your children to take probiotics, I would love to hear from you, and please do upload your own images of the lollies to my digestive and gut health community page, Tummy Talk.
