A supplement match made in heaven!

Live Bacteria & Digestive Enzyme Supplement

One of the unique things about Just For Tummies is that we are able to recommend different supplement protocols depending upon symptoms. The supplements were also formulated by me, and so I know exactly what protocol an individual needs to help reduce symptoms. This is what makes us stand out from many other supplement companies.

With the exception of our solution-based 30-day Perfect Balance Kit, our most popular and effective digestive health protocol is the one that includes our Live Bacteria probiotic capsules and natural Digestive Enzymes tablets.

I recommend this combination of Live Bacteria and Digestive Enzymes to help reduce symptoms of:

  • uncomfortable bloating
  • trapped, painful gas
  • offensive smelling gas
  • mild constipation
  • indigestion
  • heartburn
  • acid reflux
  • diverticulitis (I would also recommend one of our high-strength Omega 3 fish oil capsules if not eating oily fish at least twice weekly)
  • skin issues like boils, dry skin, eczema, and psoriasis (I would also recommend one of our high-strength Omega 3 fish oil capsules if not eating oily fish at least twice weekly)
  • a weakened immune system
  • mild depression
  • low stomach acid
  • pancreatic insufficiency
  • a fatty liver
  • ulcerative colitis (I would also recommend one of our high-strength Omega 3 fish oil capsules if not eating oily fish at least twice weekly)
  • an ageing digestive system, where absorption of nutrients may be compromised (I would also recommend one of our high-strength Omega 3 fish oil capsules if not eating oily fish at least twice weekly)

I recommend taking one Live Bacteria before breakfast and one before bed, with a small glass of water, not with a hot drink and one Digestive Enzymes tablet just before lunch and one just before dinner.

Why is this combination so effective?

The combination of these two supplements is effective, as when combined, they help to properly digest food, absorb more nutrients from food, manufacture important vitamins and hormones, ‘crowd out’ pathogenic disease-causing species of bacteria, fungi and yeasts, and help reduce the risk of inflammation and gut infections.

How long should I take these supplements?

This is a questions I often get asked when I recommend this supplement protocol. We are all different, aren’t we, but I do ask that they are taken for a minimum of a month, one pot of each, and then monitor the symptoms. If symptoms are much better at the end of the 30 days, then cut down to one Live Bacteria capsule before breakfast and one Digestive Enzymes tablet just before dinner in the evening. However, if original symptoms begin to return, get back onto the original protocol of one of each twice daily. If you’re not sure, just email us: feelgood@justfortummies.co.uk

Can I take these supplements alongside my antacid medication?

I am frequently asked if it’s OK to take these supplements alongside strong antacid medications – and the answer is yes. Let me explain why.

In recent years, there has been an explosion in the number of prescriptions written out by GPs for strong antacids, otherwise known as proton pump inhibitors (PPIS). These drugs are often prescribed for symptoms of acid reflux. However, acid reflux is not always a symptom of excess stomach acid, it can be a symptom of low levels of stomach acid, and what I mean is there is not enough stomach acid to begin the proper process of digesting food and to kill pathogenic bugs and parasites trying to get into the body via the oral route. This can create lots of uncomfortable bloaty gas in the stomach, that puts pressure on the value at the top of the stomach, resulting in an overflow of acid-drenched food pouring up into the oesophagus and causing acid reflux.

The Live Bacteria and Digestive Enzymes help to properly break down protein, fats and carbs, resulting in less gas and less pressure in the stomach. The food and acid stays in the stomach and doesn’t migrate up and out, burning the oesophagus. The supplements may also help to heal an inflamed stomach, often referred to as gastritis.

With a few diet and lifestyle tips, and our simple Live Bacteria and Digestive Enzymes supplement protocol, acid reflux can be resolved resulting in there being no need to take PPIs which can come with a host of side effects when taking regularly, long-term. I have truly lost count of the number of people I’ve spoken to who have been taking these strong antacids for many years, with no drugs review!

As previously mentioned, if not eating oily fish at least twice weekly, I would also recommend taking one of our high-strength Omega 3 fish oil capsules daily with food if you are taking a PPI, as a natural anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory for the stomach and gut.
